Satellite ProLink teaches at Reppert Auction School

(Tue, 10 Aug 2010 00:06:31 +0000)

On Wed., Aug. 4th, Julie Carter, of SPL, worked with the Reppert Auction School, presenting novel ideas on how to effectively leverage the new media while staying focused on your company’s mission.  The following photos are views of school site, located at the National Military History Center and Automotive Museum, in Auburn, IN.

Reppert Auction School leads the nation in basic auctioneering education; teaching the most advance technology and marketing classes available today. Their curriculum features over thirty instructors, an eight-hundred page textbook, and more instructional hours of training than any other auction school in the world.  “It is the most intense training offered”, said Dennis Kruse, Owner & President of Reppert Auction School (seen below introducing Julie).

“It is exciting to have Julie and her energetic presentation on the Reppert team to maintain the cutting edge of auction marketing education”, said Tim Kruse, VP of Reppert Auction School.   Tim is seen teaching below; explaining the difference in bid calling versus chanting while demonstrating the effectiveness of clear communications.

Auction Profession Thriving in Changing Times

(Wed, 28 Jul 2010 21:37:35 +0000)

The Auction Profession is one of the oldest professions; dating as far back as 500 B.C., according to the records of ancient Greek scribes.  It is one industry that has evolved and thrived with the changing times, according to the information shared by Mark Rogers, CAI, AARE, of Rogers Realty and Auction Co., Inc.; current President of the National Auctioneers Association, at the recent meeting of the Georgia Association.  Today auctioneers are polished professionals providing valuable business services shaped by the experience, education, code of ethics and licensing laws.  Mark is pictured here with Deidre  Rogers, who also joined the GAA Summer Conference; Deidre is a licensed real estate broker and auctioneer.

As part of the educational program presented a the GAA Conference, attendees were given a detailed case study of a real estate auction, From Contract to Closing, by Christie King, CAI, AARE, BAS, of C. King Benefit Auctions, LLC and current NAA Vice President.  Christie shared her  experience as well as the marketing plan, auction check lists and sale day outcome; it was a wealth of information!   Below Christie (right) is pictured with Julie Carter, of Satellite ProLink, Inc.  SPL was one of the event sponsors.

The Georgia Auctioneer Association conference included a business meeting and social time which gave Tommy Rowell of Rowell Auctions an opportunity to sell donated items, at auction (pictured below), for the benefit of the National Auctioneers Foundation.  The NAF is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit educational foundation working hand in hand with the National Auctioneers Association to advance and build the auction industry through research, education, and public relations.

‘Guilty as charged!!’ My experience with being (Facebook) social

(Wed, 16 Jun 2010 22:18:25 +0000)

I recently attended an American Marketing Association event and while enjoying the Facebook seminar, I was slapped in the head with a board! Seriously, that’s how it felt. All of the options for specialized marketing to individuals are at our fingertips. I knew this but I was guilty of over thinking the options, in Facebook; I hesitated to use them. You probably have done this too!  You know all the tools you need to produce a following of loyal, interested clients and friends are there. All you have to do is… Use it!  Be social.

And so it began:  I created our SPL Facebook page, started gathering “fans”, and began the conversation.  Jumped in and made friends.  Next, we got busy producing auction marketing campaigns, and the Facebook page got pushed aside… we pulled over on the shoulder.  Guilty as charged!!   …per the article by Ryan George, in the June edition of the NAA Auctioneer magazine.  Ryan helped us realize what we did, or rather, what we haven’t been… being social.

Jump in, Make friends, Share ideas, Be social

See you soon,

Jason

Satellite ProLink, Inc. supports children and family development thru local Taekwondo programs

(Mon, 12 Oct 2009 20:13:23 +0000)

According to wikipedia, (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Taekwondo) , Taekwondo is the world’s most popular martial art in terms of the number of practitioners.[1] Its popularity has resulted in the varied development of the martial art into several domains: as with many other arts, it combines combat techniques, self-defense, sport, exercise, meditation and philosophy.

Often times, students of this form of martial arts develop positive physical, mental, and spiritual growth.  In addition to these positive benefits, many of our area children now have a place to play and build relationships within a safe environment, thanks the efforts of volunteers and sponsors.

frontOur featured student, Christopher, is 8 years old, has achieved his orange belt and is in the process of obtaining his green belt status.  See Christopher focus his energies and break a solid pine board with his bare hand.

65 students are currently enrolled in this program that welcomes children of all ages (5 years old and up).  The classes are headed by David Ashley, a black belt, who studies under Grand Master Sosa.  The monthly fee is $35.00 per person or $70.00 for families; the scholarships are available for those in need.  In addition to Satellite Prolink, local business sponsors include:  Garl and Sons, Lowes, Gunder’s Auto Center, and Nichols Scrap Metal.

The Victory Taekwondo Chung Do Kwan Association, VTCDKA, provides the students uniforms, sparring gear and certificates of completion.  Completion requires the physical knowledge as well as a written test of the subject matter, to support both fun and education.  Classes are held Monday, Friday, Saturday, and Sunday afternoons, at three church sponsored facilities:  Abundant Life, Lakeland Acres Baptist, and Crestview Baptist churches of Lakeland, FL.

For more information on how you can help our local Taekwondo programs, contact:  David Ashley, via email: dcm3@verizon.net or call:  863-559-9414.
